Recipe & Instructions

How to Make Thanga Samba Rice Flakes Porridge Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Thanga Samba Rice flakes.
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk ( or coconut / almond milk for a vegan version )
  • 1-2 tbsp of jaggery or honey (for sweetness).
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder.
  • Chopped nuts (almonds, cashew) and raisins for garnish.
  • Grated Coconut (Optional).

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the thanga samba rice flakes and soak them in water for 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a pan, bring water and milk to a gentle boil.
  3. Add the soaked flakes and cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes until they soften.
  4. Stir in jaggery or honey, and cardamom powder.
  5. Cook for another 2 minutes, then turn off the heat.
  6. Garnish with chopped nuts, raisins, and grated cocnut if desired.
  7. Serve warm as a nutritious and filing breakfast
